forum 3 week 3: The review
I went back to fact check my story before the story was published, and I contacted Bert Guptill and Robert Harrison. They thought that the story depicted the club in a neutral way that is really informative to students and staff who are interested in getting more involved. They noticed that I needed to interview more of the students involved so I can portray the club in a multiple faceted way. That being said, they were pretty happy with how the story turned out. Most of the errors in my story were spelling and grammatical. I just recently interviewed Jeff Pierce and am adding parts of the information that I received from him throughout. This story has the potential to be even better, I am going to continue to fact check and edit the story down until I feel like it grips the attention of readers and portrays the club the way that it is intended to be.
When I first heard that we would be writing reviews for one of our stories, I was over the moon. I am going to do my story on J. Coles new album titled, "KOD." The reason that I am choosing this as my subject is that I think Cole was trying to portray a message in his album that relates with popular new rap culture. I think it would be really interesting to pick that message a part and figure out the reason that he put each track on the album.
Youtube will be my first source: There are a ton of reviews and interviews specifically with J. cole that I am going to watch in order to delve deeper into the theme of the album.
twitter: J. cole posts little snippets of the meaning behind the album on his twitter account, and I think that by following his twitter would be a good way to really pick it a part.
Lastly I will be a source. I have been listening to J. Cole's music for years and have been listening to KOD religiously since its release a few days ago. I think I have a pretty good grasp on what his intentions were behind the new works.
Nut graf: J.cole is always releasing music with a message. He is an avid lyricist, and this new album portrays a bigger social message to all people around the college age. A lot of times when we listen to music, we forget about the impact that the music is making. Let me break it down for you in hopes of that leading to you hearing the words instead of just feeling the beat.
